EYEVAN > 13th Collection - Over The Last 20 Years
A new style fascinating with its skillful mixing
The theme of this season's collection is “Over the last 20 years“.
While connecting fragments of design stock and ideas from the past 20 years, we have added current moods and functionality to create a new style.
The result is a finish linking with current fashion trends reminiscent of the 2000s. The slightly larger sizing and the curved front are a clever mix of different tastes and eras.
Enjoy the fresh look that has been born from breaking down the balance of traditional design.

The third version of the extremely minimalist metal series Sparkle, released in the 2024SS season. The bridge and endpiece are kept remained which are purposefully devoid of decoration, but the round rim is upgraded to 1.0mm x 2.0mm. The lens shape was taken from the design team’s 2006 design stock. The temples are Tupelo’s temples, which are completely devoid of decoration, and the frame is reconstructed to be an evergreen product.

The new shape of Minotaur. Features a voluminous 4mm thick front rim inspired by 1930s safety goggles. The exterior shape of the Regina, released in the 2024 AW season, is boldly sampled for the front design. From the endpiece to the temples, beautiful engraving patterns are applied in detail by a hand-carved master mold made by a craftsman, and the structure called the endpiece, where the temples cover the endpiece, is equipped with a stop hinge function, fusing the vintage beauty with modern technology. The temples are made of titanium, which provides a comfortable fit, making this a model with excellent design and functionality that is typical of EYEVAN. Original CR39 2-curve lenses are used for sunglass lenses.

A single photo from the 60’s of Allen Ginsberg, a representative of the Beat Generation that influenced the design team, was the source of inspiration for this model. While maintaining the horn style, the front hinge has been changed to a rivet hinge, and a rivet pin with a diameter of 1.8 mm has been adopted. The front is made of 6mm acetate sheet, while the back of the endpiece has a built-up structure. The combination of fine details has resulted in a frame that expresses both roughness and delicacy, just like an Allen Ginsberg poem.

The new version of model Safari, released in the 2023 SS season The distinctive hexagonal shaped front design is chosen from the design team’s 2017 design stock. From the endpiece to the temples, beautiful engraving patterns are applied in detail by a hand-carved master mold made by a craftsman, and the structure called the covered endpiece, where the temples cover the endpiece, is equipped with a stop hinge function, fusing the vintage beauty with modern technology. The temples are made of titanium, which provides a comfortable fit, making this a model with excellent design and functionality that is typical of EYEVAN.
In partnership with VAN JACKET that was leading the Ivy boom at the time, EYEVAN debuted in1972 under the concept of "eyewear for dressing as a fashion accessory". EYEVAN allowed the culture of "change your eyewear like you change your clothes" to take root in Japan. While the brand went on hiatus for a while, it was revived in 2018. Taking advantage of Sabae's craftsmanship, EYEVAN is proposing an authentic style which incorporates modern aesthetics and sensibilities.
