TALLA EYEWEAR > Arabesco

My love for design and for this visionary artist are the driving force behind the collection presented for the first time at Silmo 2021.

“I thought of this collection as a hand drawing in which the colors punctuate the thicknesses of the frame. The asymmetrical lenses are illuminated by visible cavities on the face, the ‘prototype’ hinge gives a homemade feeling. This new collection allowed me to free my imagination by expressing myself in a new format of my usual style. It is another side of Talla. For this occasion, I wanted to create a tailor- made universe. The glasses will come along with an elegant box, a new case design, a cloth and a presentation leaflet.” - Gianluca.

Inspired by Carlo Mollino, Arabesco pays tribute to the visionary creations of the famous Italian designer.

The thicknesses change with the rhythm of the colors, and the thin, irregular stainless steel structure offers lightness and maximum resistance.

Onirico, Ondulato and Puro evoke the style, shape, or materials of the designer’s iconic table.

Sinuous lines and asymmetry are the essence of this collection designed on the basis of a paper sketch.

"Everything is permissible as long as it is fantastic." - Carlo Mollino

Not everyone knows Carlo Mollino, but everyone saw before his BISILURO, the car he designed for the race Les 24h du Mans in 1955.

Carlo Mollino was an Italian designer, architect and photographer known for his various interests and projects. Many of his works were born in carpentry workshops using drawings and freehand sketches.

It is from one of these drawings that Mollino created his table Arabesco, the main inspiration from Gianluca’s collection. The structure is made of ondulated wood with holes that visually lighten the object.
