ROLF LAUNCHES GLASSES WITH TEXTURE
Tyrolean eyeglasses manufacturer ROLF has kicked off 2022 with something totally new: tactile textures. As part of its collection of eyewear made from beans, which was an industry hit in 2021, this year the company’s creative minds are launching eyeglasses featuring a surface texture that mimics nature.
Upon closer inspection, it almost looks like the frames are shattering, giving the effect of ice floes in the Arctic, rocky mountain peaks, or cracks in dry earth. It might seem as though any link between these natural phenomena and the sophisticated 3D patterns would be impossible, but they actually all have one thing in common: nature. It’s the inspiration behind the angular design of the RIGI range and the softer, more rounded design of VISO from the ROLF substance mount collection.
“We wanted to make the concept of sustainability, which is central to everything we do, tangible and visible in our designs.”
