NEW COLLECTION GÖTTI BIONIC

The idea is simple: a sustainable eyewear collection based on reduction and simplification. This extends from the material, construction, production location and packaging through to the well thought out concept, which can be customized to the desired size. All these factors serve the same aim, enabling sustainable and resource saving glasses in keeping with the ethos of “slow eyewear.”

The glasses are printed in 3D from a single material based on the seeds of the castor bean plant, a sustainable resource. This bio-based polyamide offers greater flexibility compared to other 3D-printed frames, thereby creating scope for new constructions. A new hinge, inspired by human ball and socket joints, has been developed and is the reason behind the new collection’s name: BIONIC. This reflects the transfer of natural phenomena to the world of technology – for simplicity, reliability, and ease of use.

The eyewear has been systematically pared down to the front piece and a pair of temples, with no additional screws or other aids used for the hinge. As such, the entire pair of glasses is made from just one basic material. This streamlining down to a single material enables optimized eyewear manufacturing with short transport distances, less energy consumption, and straightforward recycling.

The concept centers on conscious reduction in every respect, with sustainability directly linked to material, production, and consumption. Less is more. The collection features just four shapes and the four earthy tones of ash, blush, sand, and teal – all of which are classic colors that remain stylish in the long term and are not influenced by short-lived trends.

Conscious use of resources also means glasses that can be worn for as long as possible, with the material playing a vital role here. It is ultra lightweight and boasts outstanding stability yet optimum pliability, facilitating wearer comfort. What’s more, the bio-based material is extremely durable and exceptionally gentle on the skin. No less important is a perfect fit.

All elements of the glasses can easily be customized in terms of size, with the lens size, bridge width, temple length, and
optional nose pads all enabling a personalized fit.

The glasses are manufactured in our own factory in Switzerland. From the initial sketches, technical construction, and all stages of production through to final assembly, the glasses are made under one roof, eliminating any unnecessary transport. Also Swiss-made and developed by Götti is the simple kraft paper packaging, which can also be used as notepaper, as well as the innovative glasses case. The eco-friendly material can be folded into two different case types: not just 100% made in Switzerland, but also an essential eyewear accessory.

You also can make an appointment with us at the next fair, so you can be one of the first to have a look at the new collection.
